Being the physical presence of Jesus Christ. This is our calling. This is our challenge.

You are Christ’s body—that’s who you are! You must never forget this. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything. 1 Corinthians 12:27 (MSG)

Paul refers to the church as the body of Christ. If Jesus were physically present with us today, what would he be doing? Our ministries and missions are our response to this question. Jesus worshipped. Jesus studied the scriptures and taught the faith. Jesus proclaimed the good news. And, Jesus reached out in love and service to those who were hurting, the poor, and the forgotten.

In the booklet you will find materials describing a sampling of the numerous ministries of our church as well as your opportunity to be a vital part of these ministries and missions. We invite you to prayerfully review the material and discern how God is calling you personally to respond.

God is blessing us in many ways. God calls us to return a portion of the blessings back to Him through the church to provide ministry and mission.

Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams. Malachi 3:10 (MSG)

We invite you to go online to share your estimate of giving for 2016. You can also mail the forms to the church in the envelope provided or bring them to worship and place them in the offering plate or on the altar table. We also encourage you to share areas of ministry and mission where you would like to serve.

Our financial stewardship is critical. Our giving makes a difference on behalf of Jesus Christ. Numerous testimonies and stories are shared in the booklet, Being the Physical Presence of Jesus Christ. These lives have been changed because of your ministries, your missions, and your faithful financial stewardship in response to God’s love and grace.

Take a look at the giving chart in the booklet on page 17 and find where you are in your current giving level. We invite you consider taking a step forward. The biblical concept for giving is the tithe or 10% of one’s blessings or income. We realize that it is not easy to go from 2% to 10%. That is why we are encouraging members to begin a spiritual journey of moving one or more steps at a time. It may take several years to reach the goal of tithing. The real goal is faithfulness.

Serving and giving are responses to all that God is doing in our lives. We are so blessed. Being the physical presence of Jesus Christ. This is our calling. This is our challenge.
