In the classroom
Using The Bible, The Creative Curriculum, and Handwriting Without Tears, children in our program will be offered opportunities to meet a variety of Christian, academic, physical, social and emotional goals. The academic objectives for our 4 and 5 year old programs are designed to prepare a child for kindergarten. The Bible basis of our program will plant seeds for a Christian faith in a child’s heart for a lifetime. Please click the links to visit the curriculum pages for The Creative Curriculum published by Teaching Strategies, and Handwriting Without Tears.
In a Christian environment, through healthy play and fun work, children learn the basics in Christian faith, literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology. Our goal is to instill a love for learning as early as possible.
Parents are asked to provide a healthy lunch each day to be eaten in the classroom. WCP will supply a simple snack but ask that parents provide drinks for both lunch and snack time. Please call for information on food allergy policies.
Out of the classroom
Music classes are offered once per week for 30 minutes for 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s classes, as well as a monthly preschool appropriate chapel service in the main sanctuary. The 2 year olds will participate in a music & motion class once per week for 30 minutes. The music teacher is a member of our WCP staff team and plans activities to further develop a preschooler’s blossoming creativity.
Children are offered outdoor time on our playgrounds for 30 minutes each day, weather permitting. Each age level is assigned specific playground time.
Fenced areas are also available for extra fresh air and, weather permitting, can be set up as outdoor classrooms. Indoor Fellowship Halls are available on both campuses to provide space for gross motor activities, rainy day run around room, assemblies, and Thanksgiving Feasts.
