Registration & Tours

Tour Dates 2011-2012

To respect the privacy and security of children and families enrolled at WCP all of our facility tours are offered after the children have finished their day.  We encourage you to ask around the community to gain feedback about our preschool ministry.

Our tours are offered at 2:00 on the following days:

• Wednesday, October 19, 2011
• Wednesday, November 16, 2011
• Wednesday, December 7, 2011
• Tuesday, January 10, 2012
• Wednesday, January 18, 2012
• Wednesday, March 7, 2012
• Wednesday, April 25, 2012

We LOVE chldren and welcome them on the tours but please be aware we will do a lot of walking, including stairs. This tour does not lend itself to strollers - for your convenience please plan accordingly.

Organized tours will not be offered at other times, however, our facility is open every Sunday morning.  We invite you to join us for worship and explore Weddington United Methodist Church.  All of the Classrooms are labeled for Sunday and Weekday ministry.

2012-2013 School Year Registration

Please Note: North Carolina kindergarten age admission requires that a child turn five years old by August 31. Children must be age appropriate by August 31, 2012 to enroll in the 2, 3, or 4 year old programs.   Children entering Transitional Kindergarten will turn 5 by August 31, 2012 and/or have completed a 4 year old preschool program. (Please see Explore WCP or contact WCP for more information).

Registration for the 2012-13 school year was completed in January 2012.  We invite you to call the preschool office at 704-849-7628 or email wcp@weddingtonchurch.org to check on opening or wait lists. 

Registration for families currently enrolled at WCP

Will be handled through backpacks January 9th through 19th, 2012.

• All forms are due by January 19, with the $110.00 first child/$90.00 second child registration fee. This must be in the form of a check. We cannot use a Debit/Credit card for this transaction. Thank you.

Registration for Weddington United Methodist Church Members only 

• Effective December 15, 2011 Weddington UMC members may enroll their child/ren using the 2 page WCP WUMC Church Member Registration Form. Church members may also pick up the form during facility tours offered on January 10th or 18th at 2:00p.m.  Please contact the WCP office if you require further assistance accessing a registration form.
• Please fill out both pages COMPLETELY and mail or bring to the WCP or WUMC office no later than January 19th  with the $110 first child/$90 second child registration fee in the form of a check to hold your child's spot for the 2012-2013 school year.  This must be in the form of a check - we cannot accept debit or credit cards for this transaction.  If we cannot immediately place your child, your check will be returned to you.
• Forms will not be ranked by order recieved but will be held in bulk then pulled at random until all preschool openings are filled. At that time, any additional forms will be used to create the wait lists.
• WUMC families will be notified by EMAIL no later than February 1st of their child's placement in the program or, if necessary, on the wait list.

Weddington Christian Academy families only 

• WCA families wishing to enroll a child at WCP may pick up a Registration Form from the WC Academy office or during WCP facility tours offered on January 10th or 18th.
• Forms must be turned in to WCP by January 19th. Forms may be mailed, faxed or brought to the WCP  or WUMC office.
• Forms will not be ranked by order recieved but will be held in bulk and randomly pulled until all classes are filled. Any remaining forms will be used to create wait lists.
• Families will be notified by EMAIL no later than February 1st of their child's placement at WCP or, if necessary, on the wait list.
• After EMAIL notification of placement, families will have until February 3rd to turn in the $110.00 first child/$90.00 second child registration fee. This must be in the form of a check - we cannot accept debit or credit cards for this transaction.

Registration for the community 

• Will be made available through an Intent to Register Form that may be downloaded from this site January 3 through 19, 2012. This form may also be picked up and turned in during facility tours offered on January 10th and 18th.
• We can accept forms through January 19th. Please mail or fax forms to our office.   Please do NOT bring forms to the preschool office - thank you.  Fax:  704-847-6609 OR 704-849-7627
• Forms will not be ranked by date received but will be held in bulk. All forms received by January 19, 2012 will be randomly pulled to fill classes.
• Families will be notified no later than February 1st by phone if we are able to place a child and how to finish the registration process.
• In the event that we are not able to enroll a child because of limited openings we will add the child's name to a numbered wait list if the family so wishes. Families will be notified by EMAIL no later than February 7th of their child's numbered spot on the wait list.  Wait lists move fast!  It is well worth being on a wait list!

The registration fee is $110.00 for the first child and $90.00 for the second (and third) sibling. This will only be collected if we are able to place your child in our program.
