Stewardship

Dear Weddington Congregation,

As disciples of Jesus Christ and members of Weddington UMC, we vow to support the church through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness. Stewardship is a response of discipleship, an ordering of life that puts all we have under God’s rule—our time, our money, our relationships. Jesus isn’t interested in just ten percent. He wants one hundred percent of our lives. How will we respond?

We respond by giving to the church, the Body of Christ. Not only through our financial gifts, but through our time and our talents.  We respond by volunteering in Sunday School or coming to help make sandwiches for Second Saturday Service Day. By praying for our mission teams and showing God’s love through Upward Basketball.

In recognition that all that we have and all that we are, are gifts from God, our response is to return a portion of the gifts that God has given us, that through the church, we may be in ministry and mission for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We invite you to take the next step…take a step in faith.

During this sacred time, we invite you to prayerfully consider your involvement in the ministries and missions of the church.

Let us thank God for our many gifts and blessings. Let us pray about what our faithful financial and time commitments should be to further the work of God through this church. Thank you for your faithful commitment to God and to the ministries and missions of Weddington United Methodist Church. We invite you to join us as we seek to fulfill the call of God in this church through faithful stewardship.
