Weddington Christian Preschool

Weddington Christian Preschool is a weekday children's ministry of Weddington United Methodist Church.  We welcome children ages 2 through 5 years old. We are located in Weddington UMC, 'up on the hill' at the intersection of Providence Road and Weddington Road.

We are dedicated to helping even the youngest students grow in the knowledge of our Father's love.

Using the Bible, the Creative Curriculum and Handwriting Without Tears, children in our program are offered opportunities to meet a variety of Christian, educational, physical, social and emotional goals. The Bible basis of our program will plant seeds for a Christian faith in a child's heart for a lifetime.  In a Christian environment, through healthy play and fun work, children learn the basics in Christian faith, literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts and technology.  Our goal is to instill a love for learning as early as possible.

Registration for the 2012-2013 school year was held during January of 2012.  Please call the WCP Office at 704-849-7628 or email WCP@weddingtonchurch.org for information on openings or wait lists.

MISSION News:

Many thanks to the WCP families for supporting the following missions during the 2011-12 school year:

• October - Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes
• November - Operation Reach Out food collection
• December - Union County Christmas Bureau
• January - Loose change collection for the Home of the Good Shepherd Orphanage in Kenya, Africa
• February - The U.S. troops serving in war zones
• March - Easter treats for the Caring Hearts ministry

GRADUATION Day:

A celebration and recognition ceremony for children who have completed the 4 year old and Transitional Kindergarten programs will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 10:30a.m. in the WUMC Sanctuary.  Please bring tissues, cameras, and the whole family to help us celebrate these amazing children! Each child will be individually recognized.

LAST Day of the 2011-12 preschool year:

May 17th is the last day of the current school year.  This will be an early dismissal day at 12:00.  

FIRST Day of the 2012-13 school year:

The first day of the 2012-13 school year is Tuesday, September 4th with an early dismissal at 12:00 noon.  A parent evening is offered at 7:00p.m. on September 4th.  A children's orientation time is offered on Thursday, August 30th to see the new classrooms and meet teachers.
