Youth Confirmation

We will begin our Confirmation classes for 2012 on Sunday, February 12. Confirmation is a very special time in the life of a young Christian and we work hard to put together an amazing program, recognizing the responsibly it holds.  Some of us who have already gone through confirmation regret we did not learn as much as we hoped. Over the past few years, we have had many adults request classes of their own and so this year, we will have a special set of classes just for adults! Like our Confirmation classes for youth, adults will learn the foundations of our theology and faith from our pastors.  Adult confirmation is for any adults, including the parents of confirmands, who are looking to review, learn, and ask questions regarding foundational things that make us United Methodists.  

Our Confirmation classes are going to be great this year, whether you are a youth between 6th and 12th grade interested in joining the church as an adult member, or an adult member wishing to learn new things or review. We encourage you to check out these classes!  

Last Sunday we had a meeting for parents of prospective confirmands.  If you are a parent who missed that meeting, please contact Charlie or Britney this week so we can catch you up!

• Jan 29th, Parents Meeting, 4PM in Multipurpose Room.
• Feb 12th, Orientation, 3:30-6PM-Youth Center.

• Feb 12th, The Birth of God-Christmas - Rev. Ed Briggs
• Feb 19th, Lent, Good Friday, and Easter- Rev. Mark Curtis
• Feb 26th, Pentecost, Apostles Creed-Dr. Terry Moore
• March 4th, Worship-Dr. Terry Moore
• March 11th, Baptism and Communion-Dr. Terry Moore
• March 18th, John Wesley and UM History-Rev. Ed Briggs
• March 25th, WUMC History, Mission, and Vision-Rev. Erin Yow and Charlie Brown, Helms Hall Parents w/Dr. Terry Moore, Sanctuary. 6-8PM.

Confirmation Service

• April 1st, 6:30-8PM. WUMC Sanctuary. Parents and confirmands will meet prior to the service in Helms Hall at 5:30PM.
