7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Our first mental health awareness event is this evening at 7:00 p.m. Please note the video link has been changed.

This virtual event will be facilitated by Tony Gibson, who is our therapist at our Weddington Christian Counseling Center. He will lead our conversation on what is mental health. This open dialogue will be a time for us to talk about mental health and how mental illness is very real. Our hope is to take the shame away from any struggles we may be having with anxiety and depression.  We will have a cameo guest speaker who will share with us her own challenges with mental health.

The month of May is Mental Health Awareness month. It is vital for us to take care of ourselves mentally and emotionally. We need to have conversations about how we can do so, especially if we feel we might be experiencing anxiety or depression. A Mental Health Team has been formed to promote mental health in our congregation and community. This team will periodically offer information and events to further equip us in our understanding of what is mental health and how to recognize the need to take steps to being healthier. We are answering God’s call to become better stewards of our minds and bodies.
