Sunday Morning Classes

There are a variety of Sunday morning discipleship groups that meet on campus and online. We encourage you to find a group that will help you intentionally grow in faith through fellowship, Bible Study, prayer, and service.

CROSSROADS

Time: Sunday, 9:00 a.m.
Location: Online

Age/Stage: 40+ (but all are welcome)
Study Focus: Racial Reconciliation and Advocacy

This group meets weekly for a time of study, fellowship, and prayer. The group delves into various Biblical and topical studies and has lively conversation as they grow in faith together. The group welcomes all ages and stages to join them. Currently, the group is meeting online.

THE SHEPHERD’S VIEW

Time: Sunday, 9:45 a.m.
Location: Bonds Grove Fellowship Hall

Study Focus: Lessons from Advent

This mixed group of couples and singles seeks to grow together in faith while forming a bond of unity in Christ Jesus. The group readily welcomes newcomers to join them us as they grow in knowledge of God, in faith, and through their growing relationships with each other.

 

NEW! SUNDAY SCHOOL GROUP

Time: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Hemby House and Online

Age/Stage: All ages

This group is a great way to make new friends and grow in faith alongside others. Join us as we discuss the previous week’s sermon and other faith topics of interest. Everyone is welcome to attend either in-person or online. If you are interested in getting connected with this evolving group, please let us know so that we can help connect you with the group.

 

CONNECT-GROW-SERVE

Time: Sunday, 10:00 a.m. (2nd & 4th Sunday)
Location: Online
Leaders: Bryan & Deb Abernathy
Age/Stage: 30/40’s, mostly couples with children (but all are welcome)
Study Focus: The Bible by Brody Jespersen

This group meets on Sunday mornings to intentionally grow in faith through fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and service. The group of couples with school-aged children are committed to growing in faith and supporting one another in the midst of busy family schedules. Currently the group is meeting online twice a month for fellowship, study and social connection.

 

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Time: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Fellowship Hall

Age/Stage: 40+ (but all are welcome)
Study Focus: The Gospel of Mark

This group meets for weekly study, fellowship, prayer, and also is very active in serving others. Prayer partners are assigned quarterly to encourage and uphold each other, and the group enjoys social activities (which will resume when appropriate). The group is discussion-based and facilitated by different leaders each week.

 

CORNERSTONE

Time: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Room 214/215 and Online

Age/Stage: 50+ (but all are welcome)

This group studies various topics related to the Bible and is led by group members several group members. Each week, in addition to a time of study, they enjoy a time of fellowship and prayer online and has a heart for missions and serving others in the name of Jesus Christ. The group currently has the options of meeting in-person and online on Sunday mornings, and also plans occasional social gatherings.

 

THE GOOD LIFE

Time: Sunday, 10:00 a.m.
Location: Online
Leaders: Drew & Lisa Brown
Type: 30/40’s couples with children (but all are welcome)

If you’re looking to join a group of singles and couples looking to grow in faith and share life together, this group will welcome you with open arms. Currently the group is meeting weekly online for a time of fellowship and support in the midst of this pandemic season and will soon decide their study focus for the coming weeks.

 

DOERS OF THE WORD

Time: Sunday, 10:10 a.m.
Location: Multi-purpose Room

Age/Stage: 30+ (but all are welcome)

This group is currently meeting in-person to study God’s Word, share in life’s joys and challenges, and serve in appropriate ways during this pandemic season. In fact, the group’s name is based upon not just being hearers of the Word, but also doers of the Word. All are welcome to join the group as they study together and enjoy the blessings of community.

 

AGAPE

Time: Sunday, 10:30 a.m.

Study Focus: Who Needs Christmas? by Andy Stanley

Agape is an active group that is facilitated by a team of gifted leaders who teach on a variety of Bible-based contemporary issues and topical studies. During the Advent season the group is studying Who Needs Christmas by Andy Stanley. The group meets online beginning at 10:00 for “chat time” with one another before the teaching and discussion begin. The group is known for their servant hearts and participation in church functions, and looks forward to returning to meeting in-person and social gatherings once the pandemic concerns have subsided.

 

CLOSER WALK

Time: Sunday, 11:00 a.m.
Location: Online

Age/Stage: 50+ (but all are welcome)
Study Focus: Before Amen by Max Lucado

This group is an inviting group of 50’s-70’s that meets together online each week to support one another, pray together, and grow in faith through study and service. The group studies a variety of faith topics and appreciates open and honest discussion. In addition to weekly meetings on Sunday, group members meet in small group gatherings outside for a time of fellowship and connection during the week.

 

JAY EMRY

Time: Sunday, 11:00 a.m.
Location: Online

Age/Stage: 60+ (but all are welcome)

This Sunday School class studies various topics related to the Bible and is led by group member, Don Lowder. Currently the group is meeting online for a time of study, fellowship and prayer. Contact Patsy Sorrell for more information on how to join the Jay Emry class.
