Weddington Women’s Event with guest speaker Cherie Nettles
Saturday, October 24, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Indoors or outdoors, depending on safety guidelines and weather conditions at the time
Originally scheduled to take place in March, and then September…we are now planning to hold this special in-town “mini-retreat” on Saturday, October 24 – indoors or outdoors, depending upon safety guidelines and weather conditions at the time.
We are so looking forward to coming together in faith and fellowship. We are certain that our time together will be well worth the wait, as we gather for this special time of worship, renewal and togetherness. We hope you will join us and guest speaker, Bible teacher and comedienne, Cherie Nettles as she encourages us to laugh, learn, love and be refreshed by God’s truth (with appropriate
physical distance, of course). You will love her authentic and engaging way of sharing God’s truth and inviting others to lean into a more meaningful relationship with Jesus.

Women’s Fall Retreat – Rescheduled to 2021
New Date: to be announced in early 2021
The pandemic has certainly left us with many unknowns, disappointments and necessary changes. The Women’s Ministry Team has decided to move our Fall Retreat scheduled for this November to 2021. While the delay is disappointing, we believe this to be a safe and prudent decision at this time. We are so looking forward to this special time away. We have a wonderful weekend planned and know that God has been guiding the vision and planning for this special time of spiritual growth and renewal.
The Women’s Ministry circles host casual events in an effort to build cohesiveness between all the women’s groups of the church and to reach out to ladies that are new to the church or are still looking for ways to get involved and connected. Be sure to Like us on Facebook for all of the latest from the Weddington UMW (@WUMCUMW).
Lucy Price Circle
The Lucy Price Circle typically meets monthly, on the second Tuesday evening from September-May. This active group of women is mission-focused and has projects, activities, and events to help House of Pearls (a Christian transition home), our Monroe Campus Homework Help ministry, a family with special needs, and other opportunities. Please contact the church office for meeting details this fall.
Mary Martha Circle
The Mary Martha Circle typically gathers the 1st Friday of each month (Sept-May) as a group of loving and caring women in fellowship – supporting each other, growing in faith, and helping to serve the needs in the community. Various interesting programs are presented through speakers, videos, and other activities. The circle helps support the Monroe Campus Homework Help ministry, Health Quest, Turning Point, mission projects, and other needs within the church and community. The circle has been staying connected by phone during this pandemic season and will resume meeting at a later date as safety guidelines allow. If you are interested in learning more about the group, please contact the church office for details.
Susanna Wesley Circle
The Susanna Wesley Circle (SWC) is a group of women who seek to grow in faith, experience fellowship and friendship with Godly women, and serve Christ through various ministries and community outreach. The circle holds the Weddington Kids Consignment Sale that raises money to support the church and local missions.
The group consists mostly of women in their 20-40’s – everyone is welcome! The circle stays connected with one another in various ways during this pandemic season and will resume meeting at a later date as safety guidelines and schedules allow. If you are interested in learning more about the group, please contact the church office for details.
