Our Children’s Ministry exists for one purpose: to help children grow in wisdom and stature, just like Jesus!
Our mission is to lead kids to know God’s Word, grow in faith, and to show God’s Love.
Each week, we offer Bible studies during Sunday School. We have many fun and educational events and programs for kids and families. During the summer months, we offer interactive children’s programs including Vacation Bible Camp.
The Ark Children’s Ministry: Sunday, October 17 Lesson
ROAD TRIP: A Four Week Series on The Ten Commandments
Have you ever been on a road trip? When you think of road trips, you might think of gas station snacks, singing along to your favorite songs, and taking in the sights — but when the Israelites went on a “road trip” of their own through the wilderness, it was a little less glamorous. It was a lot less glamorous! In this series, we’ll introduce the kids to some of God’s “rules of the road,” from Moses and The Ten Commandments all the way to what Jesus called the Greatest Commandment — to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Together, we’ll discover that we can love God and others by putting God first, worshiping God, loving our families, and loving everyone.
This Week’s Lesson: The Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Commandments
Bible Verse: Exodus 20:12-14, Matthew 5:21-24
Big Idea: We obey God by loving our families.

Building Better Moms (BBM) Group
Are you a working mom looking for a place to meet other moms? Are you searching for friendships within the church with other women and don’t know where to start? Join Building Better Moms! The Ark Children’s Ministry is excited to share this new opportunity for moms in the Weddington area with children ages birth through teenagers.
The mission of BBM is to be a place that meets you right where you are as a mom, a woman, and a friend. Building Better Moms has three objectives: 1. Learning how to be better equipped as a parent through speakers and group discussion. 2. Growing through a supportive network of moms, through newly formed friendships, and also in your faith as a result of being involved in the program. 3. Serving in your community through mission projects that are meaningful, impactful, and also mom-sized (to meet the needs of our busy schedules.)
Mothers Throughout the Community are Welcomed You do not have to be a member of Weddington UMC to be a part of this group. Your age and the age of your children (early childhood through high school) does not matter. Whatever you are going through in life, whatever stage you are at in your faith journey, this is a place for you because we all have ONE thing in common – we are moms!
Meeting Dates We will meet twice a month on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/30, 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 4/12, 4/26, 5/10.
Come and be a part of this exciting program Building Better Moms forming here at Weddington UMC. Let’s discover how this group could connect all of us, as well as our community! To learn more email Carolyn Nelson. Click here to register.
