Services and All Scheduled Activities Suspended for Two Weeks
In conversation with church leadership and upon the direction of Bishop Paul Leeland and Bishop Hope Morgan Ward, United Methodist Churches across our state are suspending worship services and large group gatherings for the next two weeks. This will include Sunday, March 15, and Sunday, March 22. These steps are being taken to reduce exposure to COVID-19. The statement from the bishops can be found here. Worship and all scheduled activities are suspended for the next two weeks. We will be sending updated information through the e-news, our website, church app, and social media. You may also contact the church office for questions of events. Life Group leaders are encouraged to be in conversation with your small groups on your plans.
We will be providing streaming of worship experiences and messages for these Sundays. We will also provide opportunities for you to continue to worship through your tithes and offerings. Online giving can be accessed on our website as well as our Weddington mobile app. Our ministries and missions will continue throughout this season and we will continue to serve as the church in the name of and on behalf of our Lord Jesus Christ.
These decisions are made as a precaution in consideration of the health and welfare of our congregation and community. Although we are not aware of any cases of COVID-19 in our church, this time will allow us to thoroughly clean the entire facility as a precaution. We continue to pray for all who have been impacted by this virus and we give thanks for our medical professionals who are in the ministry of caring for us during this time. Your ministry team is always available to you throughout this time.
