Ascended at the Right Hand

May 17, 2026    The Rev. Dr. Terry Moore

Have you ever thought about what Jesus is doing right now?

When we say in the Apostles’ Creed that Jesus “ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,” it can sometimes sound distant or passive – as though Christ finished His work and stepped away. But in Ephesians 1, Paul paints a very different picture. Pastor Terry reminds us that the ascension is not about Jesus becoming absent. It is about the ongoing work of Christ through His power, authority, and presence.

Rooted in Ephesians 1:15-23, this message explores what it means for Jesus to be seated at the right hand of the Father, far above every power and authority, reigning as head of the church, and still deeply invested in His people. The same Savior who conquered sin and death is still interceding, advocating, and calling out our names today.

Pastor Terry points us toward the hope and confidence believers can have knowing Christ is still active in the life of His church and in the lives of His people. Jesus did not tag out. He is still leading, still speaking on our behalf, and still walking with us through every burden, fear, and uncertainty we face.

If you have ever wondered whether God sees what you are carrying or whether Christ is still at work in your life, this sermon is a reminder that you are not forgotten. Jesus is still working. And He is still calling your name.
