Still Waters

Mar 1, 2026    The Rev. Dr. Brad Hopper

When your life feels restless, anxious, or overwhelmed… where do you go for peace?

In this message from Psalm 23:1–3, Pastor Brad leads us into one of the most beloved passages in Scripture and reminds us that God is not a shepherd who drives us into chaos, but One who gently leads us into restoration. “He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” Through vivid imagery, personal story, and biblical insight, we’re invited to consider the difference between the rushing, counterfeit waters we often chase—success, recognition, substances, status—and the true still waters God provides through worship, prayer, Christian community, Sabbath rest, and Holy Communion.

Pastor Brad challenges us to recognize the places where we’ve been drinking from polluted puddles and instead follow the Good Shepherd to the waters of rest. Because beside still waters, God’s voice becomes clear. And when our souls are restored, we are ready for whatever He calls us into next.

If your soul feels exhausted, this message is an invitation to stop striving and start following. The Shepherd is already leading.
