Opportunities to Serve
Buddy Team
Accompany your assigned guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need during the event. Sit with your guest during dinner, dance with them, and participate in activities with them. Volunteer buddies must be at least 16 years old. When possible, we match each guest with a buddy their own age, so youth and adult volunteers are needed.
Buddies need to be available from 5:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or until your buddy leaves for the evening.
Virtual training is required for this role. A background check is required for any person aged 19 or older.

Registration Team
Registration team members warmly greet guests, sign them in, provide their name tag or lanyard, answer any questions they may have, and connect them with their assigned buddy for the evening. Involves some walking; this is an outside opportunity. Please dress warmly. It is recommended that these volunteers are at least 16 years old.
Volunteer check-in team will show volunteers where to wait for their honored guest to arrive.

Event Team
Hair, Makeup, Shoeshine team members assist with the set-up of the salon area, welcome each guest, and chat with them while you pamper them and make them feel special. It is recommended that these volunteers are at least 16 years old.
The Sensory Room team will be present at the event and assist any guest who needs a break from the festivities, providing a quiet, soothing environment.
This team will also interact with caregivers/parents as needed. It is recommended that these volunteers are at least 25 years old and have some experience working with exceptional children.
Limousine team members will help coordinate the limousine rides for honored guests and their buddies. Team volunteers will ensure safety at the curb, engage guests in conversation as they await their turn, and ride along if a second chaperone is needed for the group.

Red Carpet Paparazzi Team
This team assists and announces guests as they make their way down the red carpet, manages the flow of traffic, and cheers for guests to make them feel like celebrities and VIPs.
For the safety of our guests, please note that only volunteers who have been background checked will be allowed inside the building. If you wish to serve during the prom, please consider signing up for an additional volunteer shift and completing your background check.

The set-up team executes event set-up and assists other teams to ensure they have everything they need. Some physical activity may be required as you coordinate placement of tables, chairs, the red carpet, etc. You may be required to climb a ladder or lift up to 25 lbs. It is recommended that these volunteers are at least 14 years old.
The decoration team arranges centerpieces and table décor, prepares the dance floor, arranges balloons, and hangs lights under the guidance of the decoration team lead. You may be required to climb a ladder or lift up to 25 lbs.

Breakdown Team
The breakdown team takes down decorations, tables, chairs, etc. and cleans up the event space at the conclusion of the prom. Some physical activity may be required as you coordinate placement of tables, chairs, the red carpet, etc.
