Overview

Thank you for your interest in our preschool! We’re excited you’re considering WCP for your child’s early education journey. Registration takes place each January for the upcoming school year and the detailed process is below.

Process

We offer online registration through our Brightwheel management system.
There are three main registration paths. Details for each group are outlined as follows:
Currently Enrolled WCP Families
  • Currently enrolled families will receive a notification from Brightwheel in early January to begin registration. 
  • Step 1: Complete the online registration form through Brightwheel. 
  • Step 2: Once we receive your form, you will be invoiced for the registration fee. 
  • The registration fee is due upon receipt and is paid online through Brightwheel. 
  • Registration fees are non-refundable. 

To secure your child’s spot:
  • Families must submit the registration form and pay the registration fee by January 23, 2025. 
  • After January 23, any remaining spots will be offered to community families. 

Siblings, Toddlers, and TK Registration
If you need to register siblings not currently enrolled or wish to register for Toddler or Transitional Kindergarten, please request a registration link by emailing wcp@weddingtonchurch.org.

Weddington Christian Academy & Weddington Church Families
Weddington Christian Academy and Weddington Church families may register in January. 
  • During this time, please contact the preschool office by phone at 704-849-7628 or by email at wcp@weddingtonchurch.org to request the link to our online registration form. 
  • After the registration window, please contact the office for updated registration availability. 

Placement & Notification
  • Families will be notified by email regarding class placement, including first and second choices. 
  • Once placement is confirmed, you will be invoiced for the registration fee, which is paid online through Brightwheel. 
Community Families
Step 1: Complete the Online Intent to Register Form 
  • During the registration window, a link to our online Intent to Register Form will be available. 
  • The link will take you to our Brightwheel management system, where you will be prompted to create an account. 
  • The Intent to Register Form is not the official registration form, but it is required to be considered for placement. 
  • We can accept forms through close of business on the last day of the registration window 

Forms are not ranked by date received.

All Intent to Register Forms submitted on time will be held together and randomly pulled to fill classes.

If you are interested in placement at both the Weddington and Bonds Grove campuses, please complete a separate Intent to Register Form for each campus.

Step 2: Placement Notifications
  • Families will be notified by phone or email: 
  • If we are able to place your child, and 
  • How to complete the official registration process. 

Waitlist Information
  • If we are unable to offer placement initially, your child(ren) will be placed on a waitlist. 
  • You will be notified by email if your child is placed on a waitlist. 
  • Our waitlists often move quickly, so it is well worth remaining on the waitlist. 

After the registration window closes:
  • Please contact the WCP office directly for current registration and placement information. 

Age Requirements

North Carolina kindergarten admission requires that a child turn five years old by August 31 of the target school year. In the same way, WCP requires that children be age-appropriate by August 31 to enroll in each age-level class.
  • Children must meet the age requirement for their class by August 31 of the school year they are entering. 
  • Children entering Transitional Kindergarten (TK) will turn 5 years old by August 31 and/or completed a 4-year-old preschool program.
