Blessed are Those Who Mourn
Grief touches every life, often without warning. Some losses come after long seasons of anticipation, others arrive suddenly and leave us breathless. In moments like these, we may struggle to find the right words—or even the strength to pray. Yet Scripture reminds us that God is not distant from our sorrow. He sees us, He knows our pain, and He draws near when our hearts are breaking.
This past Sunday, Pastor Terry led us through Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” In a season marked by profound loss within our church family, we were reminded that Jesus Himself is acquainted with grief. He understands loss, walks with us through sorrow, and promises comfort—not because mourning is easy, but because God meets us in it. From the hillsides of Galilee to the promises of Revelation, we are invited to trust a Savior who holds us and wipes away every tear.
If you are grieving today, you are not alone. If you are walking beside someone who is mourning, you are part of God’s comfort to them. We are called to carry one another, to sit with sorrow, and to cling to the hope that death does not have the final word.
We are a church family rooted in grace, hope, and the promise of resurrection life. Wherever you find yourself today, may you know the nearness of the God who loves you, comforts you, and walks with you through every valley.
